The ceremony was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Phạm Hoài Nam – Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Minister of National Defense – along with leaders and representatives from the Ministry of National Defense.

On behalf of the President and Party-State leadership, Senior Lieutenant General Phạm Hoài Nam presented the “Hero of Labor” title to Viettel Construction. He extended congratulations and praised the determination, creativity, and efforts of Viettel Construction and the broader Viettel Group for their leadership in mastering and pioneering telecom infrastructure, elevating Vietnam’s telecommunications sector to global standards.

Founded in 1995, Viettel Construction operates in telecommunications infrastructure construction and operation, infrastructure investment, and civil construction, while also undertaking key national defense and security responsibilities. After 30 years of operation, the company has achieved numerous accomplishments in production and innovation.

Viettel Construction currently holds the No. 1 position in Vietnam for building and operating telecom infrastructure, managing over 52,000 base stations and deploying over 300,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable – equivalent to eight times around the Earth – providing 100% territorial coverage in Vietnam and supporting 11 million fixed super broadband ports. The company operates Vietnam’s largest and most modern telecom network, serving nearly 54 million mobile users and over 9 million households and businesses using fixed broadband.

Viettel Construction has been a pioneer in developing telecom infrastructure in border areas, islands, and remote regions, helping nearly 10 million ethnic minorities connect to information networks, providing communication for over 3 million fishermen and thousands of military personnel, bringing mainland and offshore islands closer together, and promoting marine and remote-area economic development.

Internationally, the company has built Viettel’s telecom infrastructure in 10 countries, providing services to 50 million customers across three continents, contributing to Vietnam’s global integration and early, distant defense strategy as outlined by the Party.

Viettel Construction’s CTR stock belongs to the mid-cap group and is one of the most highly rated and favored by financial institutions. As of the end of 2024, it had a market capitalization of 14.812 trillion VND, with 10% foreign ownership and 66% state ownership, gaining strong trust from investors.

During the award ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Phạm Hoài Nam urged the company to focus on major tasks, including continued strict implementation of Resolution of the 13th Party Central Committee (Session 8) on national defense strategy in the new context. He emphasized maintaining leadership in network infrastructure construction, operation, and investment, while elevating the company’s performance in other business areas to top-tier industry levels.

He also called on Viettel Construction to leverage its collective strength, advance in science and technology, foster innovation, and promote comprehensive digital transformation. He encouraged the company to preserve strong bonds with Party committees, authorities, local communities, partner agencies, and customers.
