From Backend Staff to Technology Experts, Viettel Honors Global Excellence
Mr. Huỳnh Thanh Tuyền, a driver who completed over 38,900 kilometers safely in 2024, was recognized as one of Viettel’s 10 Global Outstanding Individuals. He is among the key contributors to Viettel’s record-breaking growth in 2024. Other honorees include engineers working on high-tech military equipment, a technician in Haiti who repaired cables amid gang conflicts, and a female supermarket director in Phu Tho who doubled sales compared to local competitors.
In a spirit of patriotism and excellence, Viettel selected Mr. Huỳnh Thanh Tuyền and 9 other individuals, along with 10 teams from over 50,000 employees across the Group, representing four core sectors: Telecommunications, IT Solutions, High-tech Industrial R&D and Production, and Logistics and Commerce. Honorees range from staff members to team leaders, department heads, and center directors, underscoring Viettel’s philosophy that every contribution deserves recognition.
These “stars” overcame extraordinary challenges, accepted new missions, and created innovative approaches—true to Viettel’s culture of adaptability, willingness to embrace change, and a soldier’s determination to see every task through. Their stories embody the spirit of the movement: “Unity – Shared Values – Shaping the Future.”
Their achievements also demonstrate Viettel’s innovation capabilities and leading role in advancing Resolution 57 issued by the Politburo, focused on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
In addition to cash prizes, each individual honoree will receive either an international study tour or advanced domestic training to further develop their knowledge and skills.
During the Viettel’s Stars ceremony, Mr. Tào Đức Thắng, Chairman and CEO of Viettel Group, stated:
“Viettel is strong not because of past victories, but because we are never satisfied. We always strive to go further, do better, and achieve more every day. In 2025, our goals include building 20,000 5G stations, investing in a large-scale data center, preparing for semiconductor manufacturing, mastering low-earth orbit satellite technology, and developing new high-tech strategic defense projects.”
Viettel’s Stars is an annual recognition program by Viettel Group that honors exceptional individuals and teams who go beyond their limits, demonstrate resilience, and contribute meaningfully to Viettel’s mission of “Innovation for Humanity.”
Honored Teams:
- Optoelectronics Center – Viettel High Tech: Core team for designing and manufacturing high-tech military equipment to meet stringent performance demands.
- Center C10 – Viettel Aerospace Institute: Successfully completed R&D, testing, acceptance, and production of advanced defense technologies.
- Fixed Broadband Center – Viettel Telecom: Achieved cumulative revenue of 16,563 billion VND in 2024, up 12% from 2023.
- Viettel Dak Lak – Viettel Telecom: Estimated revenue of 1,086 billion VND, leader in the Central Highlands region, retaining the No.1 mobile market share.
- Telecom Infrastructure Project Management Board – Viettel Networks: Deployed over 5,000 5G stations in 1.5 months, placing Viettel in the global top 5% of modern telecom networks.
- M-Mola, Movitel – Viettel Global Investment: No.1 in e-wallet market share in Mozambique. E-Mola reached $80.1M in revenue, growing 88% year-over-year.
- Data Analytics Center – Viettel Digital: Developed 15 AI use cases, advancing Viettel Digital’s transformation into a tech-driven financial services company.
- Cybersecurity Center – Viettel Cyber Security: Won Pwn2Own security contest twice consecutively; deployed major information security services domestically and internationally.
- Viettel Post Ben Tre – Viettel Post: Achieved 81.6% growth over 2023 with revenue of 71.8 billion VND, 132% of target, leading market share locally.
- Construction Investment Board – Viettel Headquarters: Drove major project initiatives, including national 5G infrastructure procurement and deployment.

- Nguyễn Văn Hải – Director, Optoelectronics Center, Viettel High Tech: Led team to 564.3 billion VND in revenue; developed two new product lines.
- Nguyễn Đình Tỉnh – Department Head, K3.5, Viettel Aerospace Institute: Key role in R&D of advanced aerospace and defense products.
- Lê Thị Cẩm Vân – Mobile Customer Representative, Viettel Telecom: Drove 2G-to-4G migration, helping convert 8.4 million subscribers, achieving 160% of target.
- William Ladouceur – Team Leader, Natcom (Haiti), Viettel Global: Operated in dangerous territory, restored BTS network, contributing $3M in annual revenue.
- Diệp Văn Trung – Deputy GM, Enterprise Segment, Viettel Peru: Surpassed 158% of annual plan; closed $72M contract with Peruvian National Police.
- Nguyễn Thanh Tùng – Technical Staff, Viettel Construction: Managed 33 BTS sites across 8 communes, ranked No.1 nationwide in site management KPIs.
- Vũ Thị Hạnh – AI Specialist, Viettel Data and AI Services Center: Led high-rated AI and computer vision projects; 2nd prize, 24th Military Youth Innovation Awards.
- Đặng Việt Tiệp – Sales Executive, Viettel Business Solutions: Delivered data platforms to major banks, generating 86 billion VND, achieving 172% of plan.
- Nguyễn Thị Lệ Thu – Director, Phu Tho Supermarket 21, Viettel Trade & Import-Export: Led top-performing store with 78.2 billion VND revenue, 118% of target, 3.8 billion VND profit.
- Huỳnh Thanh Tuyền – Vehicle Team Leader, Viettel Construction Dong Thap: Drove 38,945 km safely; supported storm recovery; contributed to sales growth via word-of-mouth customer acquisition.
